Fleas Irk Us

I have a small flea problem
I admit it started purposefully
I only ever got 'em
Just to try and find a circus flea

Though catching them was easy
The plan did not go perfectly
Once I got all fleasy
They made a circus out of me

This is not what I expected
And I wish that they would stop
Their grandstand's been erected
Underneath my big top

The side show really itches
The behind show's even worse
They're parading in my britches
I think that's where they rehearse

The clown fleas joke and juggle
It is such a sight to see
But it doesn't make me chuckle
When the jokes are all on me

The lion tamer act
Was one that gave a big surprise
There's lions on my back
And all of them are normal size

I hope they don't get elephants
Or any other critters too
It's one thing to be a circus tent
But I don't want to be a zoo

They high dive in my naval
And walk tightrope in my hair
I'd flee them were I able
But the fleas are always there

I thought I'd go outside
And blast them all off with a hose
They built a water slide
And started up aquatic shows

I tried to pawn them off on Rover
But they just played a matinee
And his fleas all came over
And liked it well enough to stay

I wondered if some wax
Would go and get them off my chest
But the smooth new racing tracks
Are now the spot that they like best

I just can't seem to evict them
So for now I'm out of luck
I don't think I would have picked them
If I knew how I'd get stuck

If I gave a second thought
I would have skipped the whole flea circus
I guess I really just forgot
How much it is fleas irk us

Show business is too trying
But I think plants would be no harm
Once I send these fleas flying
Maybe I'll start an ant farm
