To Cast A Shadow
The shadow of your former self is said
To be the future self that has run dry
But present here that shadow lurks instead
And haunted by that specter now am I
All shadows stand as shadows of the past
Between the form and umbra time moves on
So shape laid bare in silhouette I cast
Is not the shape that presently I don
For all the doubt and worry to be bade
By shadows shifting dark upon the floor
Were I to cast a light upon the shade
The apparition then would be no more
If past be shadows, so the future light
Then cast them out and make the future bright
